- THE KING’S STORY
The King’s was started in 1982 by a Covenant Theological Seminary student who was looking to earn some extra pocket money while undergoing graduate studies in St. Louis, Missouri. Washing windows seemed simple enough and provided the much-needed flexibility that a graduate student needs. For many years The King’s learned the art of service by cleaning residential windows and gutters. Over the years, The King’s has changed hands among a number of other seminary students at Covenant. In the spring of 1999 Brian Howard sold The King’s to Paul Cagle, an incoming first-year seminary student. Although Paul enjoyed seminary, he came to the conclusion that he really wanted to be a part of building a world-class service company. He also realized that in order to make that happen, The King’s needed to be surrounded by a core of service-minded staff members who possessed a great attitude and a desire to put the needs of others ahead of their own.
By hiring Covenant graduate students to serve on staff, along with many others who share our desire to love and serve others, we committed ourselves to building a company that based its whole idea of success solely on how well we serve our clients and how well we serve one another. Our aim from the beginning has been to:
- Offer extraordinary service to clients of The King’s by meeting their needs and helping them take care of their property;
- Provide a community of trust and dependability between our staff and our clients; and
- Offer quality employment to the staff of The King’s while enabling employees to reach their personal goals.
It is through the actions of so many staff members over the years that our clients have experienced our genuine regard for them and their property.
In 2004, The King’s expanded its services to include the cleaning and care of commercial buildings. Initially limited to the St. Louis area, and based on its success there, The King’s opened a second office in Houston, Texas in 2008. The goals of The King’s remain the same, regardless of the size of the client.
Since its inception, The King’s has always considered it a privilege to serve others. We have also realized that the key to serving our clients is exactly that, SERVING. We believe that God has made man in His image and that by serving our clients well we are able to reflect part of that image. Our story is still a young one, with many more chapters to be written. However, it is our hope that one major theme will continue to run throughout The King’s story, which is, “Serving God well by serving others well.”
Respectfully Yours,
Paul D. Cagle
